When pinging my blog, I use www.pingoat.com - it does it all for you, just type in your URL.
If you want a ping list to import into your Wordpress backend, then check out this site, its got a good list of the main sites.http://www.dailyblogtips.com/ping-list/
Personally, I use www.pingomatic.com
It's one of the oldest ping sites and it's still around and used by many.
I also use the Google XML Sitemap plugin for Wordpress, which pings your site to Google, Bing, and Ask.com every time you update your blog.
1. Go to WordpressPingList.com they have an awesome site full of tons of ACTIVE pinging services. They're up-to-date on them. They also have a lot more than the multi-pinging services. If you have a self-hosted (not wordpress.com) site with Wordpress then put them in your ping list, if not then go to Pingler.com and put all the sites in their list. You can create custom lists there. 2. FeedPing.com - big, huge list, works really well.
